We have 4 weekends left before all our plans come to a crashing halt and we sit and wait ever so impatiently patiently for Slade’s arrival. A few of them are packed to the brim with activities, a couple are completely open, and one might include a road trip… we’ll see. But, this last weekend was jam-packed from start to finish… in really good ways!
Last week, after my pregnancy update, I nailed down my vision for the kid’s room. I’m super excited about it! But, I’m not going to talk too much about it, because I’m planning on doing a full post later this week. So, I’ve been researching, surfing online, hunting for the perfect combination of product AND price, and shopping around town in my spare time. In the middle of that on Fridays we head towards the beach… can I get an amen? Friday night, Kristin came over to relax after work and we lost track of time and talked well into the night. Which was awesome, right up until my 7am wake-up call on Saturday.
Saturday morning was the day that I’ve been waiting for since mid-Feb {or March, I can’t honestly remember}… my girl got out of jail! It’s my first time with Rethreaded walking somebody through the process of recovery, and Saturday was the big day. Another lady from a different ministry and I were at the jail by 8, we were told that release starts “anytime between 8 and 10, but we have until midnight if we want it”…. freaking jackwagon. They ended up taking their sweet time and releasing them right at 10. And I think I saw one of the saddest things in my life that morning, out of the 4 people released only 1 of them had somebody waiting to pick them up. Can you imagine that? I mean, I can’t stand not having Anyways, we spent the better part of the day getting our girl set up with clothes, and all settled into a halfway house. It was awesome, but it was looooong… and on 4 1/2 hours of sleep and no food for the better part of the day, I was not exactly operating at full capacity!
Sunday morning we were awakened at 7:08 on the dot by a little girl standing beside our bed saying, “Momma…blocks?” Holy crap! What a wake up call! It’s the first time that Zoe crawled out of her crib, and the first time we were shocked out of sleep like that. The funny thing is that for months I’ve said, “The day Zoe climbs out of her crib is the day we buy a toddler bed.” Coincidentally, our plans after dropping Linda, can I just call her Linda and you’ll know that’s my girl that I’ve been working with? Ok. Thanks. Anyways, earlier in the week I found the exact bed that I was looking for on Craigslist and we were headed to pick it up after church! Talk about perfect timing! Brad and I spent a few hours driving Sunday afternoon, but it was great! We picked up the toddler bed and Brad’s parents gave us their grill… so we picked that up while we had a truck too. All in all, it was a great {but long} day.
Today, Zoe and I are relaxing a bit. We ran around town for a few hours just drumming up errands because I needed to get out of the house. Slade is attacking my organs today, and it’s a bit distracting. Physically, I feel like crap… but that’s what naptimes are for… right? God bless naptime.
{This is how Zoe decided to dress for our errands today… God, I love that girl!}

And, with that… I’m going to go zone out on the couch now!
Happy Monday Ya’ll!

LOVe her outfit. She is so stinkin’ cute.
idk what I’ll do if Peanut learns how to climb out of her crib – that makes me so nervous since she’s still so tiny and can’t even make it up on the couch unassisted (cept the basement couches which are lower and made of leather, so easier to grasp).
Congrts on the toddler bed! Hoping you can reuse the crib for Slade now!
so I want to know how the transition to the bed has been!?!? we are going to hold out as long as we can….
